About Me

Something you should know about me is that my name is Omni and Omni means all. For me this describes an innate energy in me to experience ALL that life has to offer (and this includes death). I was born to two professional modern dancers and have been a student of the body ever since. I have taught yoga for the past 22 years, I am a full-spectrum birth coach and lactation specialist, I am an INELDA-certified end-of-life doula and the director of education for the organization, NEDA proficient, and a RN with speciality in labor + delivery, pediatric home health and hospice.

I am a mover, a thinker and a creator. I am here to witness, facilitate, educate and empower you in ANY and ALL phases of your life. I am not afraid of hard work and uncomfortable conversations. I am also a mother, a partner and a powerhouse artist. See below for a list of my trainings and certifications.

  • "...most importantly, I felt safe and calm."

    I started my search for a doula when I was just 1 month pregnant with my second child. I started my search so early because I had a traumatic birth experience with my first child and I was determined to have a better experience with my second child. I took several interviews with about five doulas when I met with Omni.

    I was immediately impressed by her calmness and her knowledge of the hospital I was giving birth at. I loved that Omni knew all the technical terms they used at the hospital and could easily explain to me what was going on. Omni asked me what was most important to me during birth. I told her I just wanted to feel safe, I knew the nurses would be there to keep the baby safe but I needed someone else here to make sure I was safe as well. She did just that. Omni would continuously check in on me throughout my pregnancy. She was always there to answer any questions or just check in to make sure I was mentally ok. She was able to establish such a kind and caring relationship with me during my pregnancy. 

    When my water broke, Omni went into action. She was texting my husband and instructing him what to do. When the nurse would tell us what was going on in technical terms, my husband would text that to Omni. She immediately broke down what was going on in a way that we could understand and what our options were for the next step. When she arrived at the hospital, she asked the nurses to bring me a kit that included a diffuser and twinkle lights. I thought it was unusual to put up twinkle lights, but as I was pushing, I was so glad she did. Omni got me through the most painful contractions, whether it was holding my hand, repositioning me, or putting pressure on my back during a contraction. When it came time to push, Omni and my husband were right by my side. This was my second child so I knew how to push, but when the moment came, I drew a blank. Omni was there to help guide me through each push and remind me how to breathe. I would let Omni know when I was having a contraction and she would alert the nurses that I was ready to push. Before each push, I would take a breath and focus on the pretty twinkle lights to remain calm and focused. Before I know it, my little girl was there and in my arms. 

    When I look back at my birth experience, I remember it being beautiful and full of colorful lights, the room didn't smell like a hospital but a calming fragrance from the diffuser, and most importantly, I felt safe and calm. I knew I was being looked after and taken care of. I had such a beautiful experience all because of Omni. She checked in on me once baby and I were home. Omni was still available for any questions, problem solving, or advice. She did a home check and brought us dinner. I can't say enough how much I appreciated her kindness and knowledge. She is truly a wonderful person and I am so happy we took this journey together.
